DP World – UAE earns double recognition at Middle East Logistics Awards 2006
DP World – UAE, the regions leading port & terminal operator, received a double recognition at the MELA (Middle East Logistics Awards) 2006.
The introduction of MELA, held at the Madinat Jumeirah on the 21st of November was attended by logistics, air-freight and maritime industry leaders and practitioners spanning across the Middle East region.
DP World – UAE’s flagship facility, the Jebel Ali Port, won the award for Best Seaport as well as the award for Best Container Terminal.
Commenting on the awards, Mr. Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice-President & Managing Director, DP World – UAE said ‘The awards criteria are based on leadership, innovation and a contribution to the advancement of the Middle East logistics industry. The award for Best Container Terminal was received on behalf of DP World – UAE’s Jebel Ali Port by Mr. Omar Al Muhairi, Director – Jebel Ali Container Terminal; while the award for Best Seaport was received by Mr. Abdulla Bin Damithan, Sales Manager DPW -UAE.
The Middle East Logistics Awards (MELA) 2006 is the region’s first annual logistics awards and nominations, votes were audited by AGNMAK.
