The American tour group is currently on an eight-day visit to the United Arab Emirates as part of an international MBA programme on the global reach of business as well as exploring possibilities of working in other countries.

Welcoming the academics, Communication Manager, DP World UAE region, Abdullah Bin Touq said, ‘It is an honour to welcome our American guests to the country and we hope this visit will provide them with an understanding of the processes and challenges involved in managing a major global company like DP World.’

The trip organised by the University of Denver was geared towards focusing on four key business sectors: tourism, real estate, investment and ports management and to learn how they fit into the constantly evolving globalisation of markets.

Douglas Allen, the University’s Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Director of the MBA Programme, said, ‘We are delighted to be able to visit a Port operator of this enormity and our interaction will help us understand the dynamics of global business, as well as cross cultural business transactions – something on which we place a great deal of importance.’

The 19 students and their academic mentors displayed keen interest in specific operational capabilities, logistics involved in transport, security measures, cargo categories, training programmes for employees, storage facilities, future projects and port capacity.
