Jebel Ali Free Zone wins fDi Magazine’s Best Port Special Economic Zone award

Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) was on Wednesday awarded the ‘Best Port Special Economic Zone’ in the Middle East by the Foreign Direct Investment (fDi) Magazine.

The award was presented to Mr. Ali Bin Damithan, Senior Vice President Customer Services Department, Jafza, at the Middle East Special Economic Zones of the Future Awards 2006-2007.
The ceremony was held at Dubai International Exhibition and Conference Centre on the sidelines of Cityscape 2006.

Jafza was awarded the Best Port Special Economic Zone out of more than 90 Special Economic Zones throughout the Middle East.

The rankings are based on one of the most authoritative research projects on free zones in the Middle East carried out by fDi Magazine recently. The report is published by the London-based Financial Times newspaper.

Accepting the award, Mr. Ali said:
‘The award reflects the good standing of Jebel Ali Free Zone as the region’s leading special economic zone. It is a testimony to our constant evolution, refinement and upgrading of every aspect of our services to meet our customers’ needs, which has made Jafza a thriving and dynamic place to do business from.’
