Dubai World has major presence at Careers UAE 2007

Dubai World, one of the world’s largest holding companies, unveiled plans to project itself as a leading corporate employer of UAE nationals when the 7th annual Careers UAE 2007 Exhibition opens Tuesday March 13.

The three-day exhibition is organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre, in conjunction with TANMIA, Emirates Nationals Development Programme (ENDP), Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University and UAE University.

It is billed as the largest and most comprehensive careers event for UAE nationals to meet and network with prospective employers and gain exposure to job opportunities, especially in non-governmental sectors.

This year would see Dubai World participating for the first time as a group, showcasing many of its business units such as DP World, Nakheel, Dubai Customs, Jafza, Istithmar, Dubai Maritime City, Jadaf Dubai, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, Civil Engineering Department, and the Information Technology Center.

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of Dubai World, said: ‘Dubai World is fully aware of the importance of investing in human resources, especially in the immense potential of the UAE’s new generation of highly educated young men and women. We have developed plans to actively recruit Emaratis in all our business units. UAE nationals already occupy a majority of our senior levels management positions. This is entirely in line with the strategic objectives of the Government of Dubai.’

Dubai World companies are among the most sought-after career destinations for job seekers. At Careers UAE 2007 they plan to attract new graduates as well as candidates with experience with job offers in all departments and projects.

Saeed Obaid, Recruitment Officer, Shared Services, Dubai World, said: ‘We are very keen to give young talented nationals the opportunity to play an active role in the developmental march of this country. The youth are our real assets and we will spare no effort to prepare them to take on leading roles in the future. We are working on a new mechanism for recruiting young UAE national cadres in all our departments, which we will announce soon.’

This will be the seventh consecutive year that some of these business units will be participating in the Careers UAE Exhibition.

Officials from these companies will actively welcome and interact with young Emarati job aspirants in order to encourage them to apply for vacancies across a wide variety of sectors.
