Tejari, the leading online B2B marketplace for emerging markets, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CONNECT – the World CEO Business Forum and the US Export Council to develop a specialised online transaction platform, which will facilitate further trade between the US and the Middle East.

Speaking on this strategic agreement, Mr. Omar Hijazi, CEO Tejari said: “The UAE is the largest US export market in the Middle East and at the same time makes sizeable foreign direct investments in the United States. The new trading portal, developed by Tejari, will create a direct online bridge between the Middle East and the US, help US companies promote their business to over 200,000 registered businesses spanning 15 countries and facilitate further trade between the two countries. US companies will also have access to a trading floor where they can interact with potential buyers or sellers across the Middle East 24×7.”

Mr. David Altman, Executive Director at the US Export Council in New York, said: “This agreement facilitates access to Tejari’s successful online trading platform, which represents a powerful, practical and cost effective new opportunity to connect US companies, especially the 250,000 small and medium sized US Manufacturers, to the portal which will generate export sales across the Middle East and the UAE, where Tejari has the largest online buyer network”.

The new online portal,http://www.usexportsonline.com, will officially be launched at the 4th World CEO Forum, which is taking place in Dubai from the 17th-19th March 2009. Tejari and the US Export Council, are sponsors of the forum, will provide US delegates attending the event optimum introduction to business in the UAE. Tejari will also hold a workshop on the features of the portal and how business delegates from the US and the Middle East can take advantage of the benefits it offers.

The World CEO Forum, which was created in 2005 by James Magee from London-based International Trade & Development Group (ITD), has forged a partnership with Kristina Hall of Global Event Management in Dubai to develop the event further. The 4th edition of the event, which will take place at the Jumeirah Beach Conference Centre in Dubai, is a platform where delegates from across the globe will be able to meet businessmen from the region.

Delegates signing up for the three day networking forum will automatically gain the Tejari eEXHIBIT membership to the online trading portal, http://www.usexportsonline.com, which is now live, enabling them to showcase their company, publish product catalogues, issue trade leads in their own virtual showroom and establish long term business relationships with new trading partners through Tejari’s business matchmaking service.

One of the key components of the agreement between Tejari and the US Export Council is the development of an online trading community, an e-Exhibition private-label community, for US companies, which is expected to be online in early 2009. “This element also provides in-advance business matchmaking for all of the US Companies attending the Connect – CEO Forum in Dubai on March 17th 2009,” concluded Mr. James Magee, Organizer of the event in Dubai.
