Jamal Majid bin Thaniah wins Seatrade Lifetime Achievement award
Global marine terminal operator DP World scooped up two top honours at the prestigious Seatrade Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards 2010 last night (October 25 ) – the Seatrade Lifetime Achievement Award for Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Group CEO, Dubai World and Joint Vice Chairman, DP World, and the Container Terminal Operator Award for DP World, UAE Region.
Mr Bin Thaniah received the Lifetime Achievement Award during a gala ceremony held at Atlantis, The Palm on the eve of the Seatrade Middle East Maritime conference and exhibition that opened this morning.
The citation praised Mr Bin Thaniah’s life-long commitment to the maritime industry and remarkable contribution towards the development of DP World as one of the top marine terminal operators in the world.
The Seatrade Container Terminal Operator Award was received by Abdulla Bin Damithan, Director, Account Management, Container Terminals, DP World, UAE Region, which manages the flagship Jebel Ali Port.
The citation for the award lauded DP World for its TEU throughput performance, cost efficiency, turnaround time and value added services delivered at its terminal facilities. DP World has won this award for the second consecutive year.
Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Group CEO, Dubai World and Joint Vice Chairman, DP World, said:
